ATLANTA (Sept. 24, 2014) – Bounce TV, launched Sept. 26, 2011 as the nation’s first-ever broadcast television network designed for African American audiences. Three years after its debut, the network continues to grow in strength and popularity with affiliates, sponsors and viewers.

 

The network announced today that:

• WMAR-TV in Baltimore, MD (E.W. Scripps Company) and WSYM-TV in Lansing, MI           (Journal Broadcast Group) are the newest Bounce TV affiliates. Their additions drive           the network past 90% of African American television households and 73% of U.S.           TV HHs.

• National upfront advertisers have more than doubled in the past year, with the           network now boasting a roster of 35 blue-chip general market sponsors across           multiple categories.

• Primetime viewership is up +61% in Households, +51% in A18-49 and +54% in           A25-54 September to-date vs. Sept. ’13 while quarterly primetime viewership           has risen by +44% in Households, +14% in A18-49 and +18% in Adults 25-54 in the           third quarter to date* vs 3Q13.

• The acquisition of a package of demo-targeted motion pictures in a new film            licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD),            Greased Lightning starring Richard Pryor, the classic Bill Uptown Saturday Night           and Let’s Do It Again; Wesley Snipes starring in Boiling Rumble in the Bronx           starring Jackie Chan; Cuba Gooding, Jr. in Judgment Night; Prince’s follow-up to            Purple Rain, Graffiti Bridge and more.

• Production on the new Bounce TV original series Mann & Wife will begin in           November. Husband and wife team David Mann (Madea’s Big Happy Family) and           Tamela Mann Sparkle), stars of the hit Tyler Perry sitcom Meet The Browns,           reunite for this new sitcom, to debut in 2015.

• The season two premiere of the Bounce TV original series Family Time Oct. 14 at           10:00 p.m. while the season three premiere of Off The Chain will be Weds. Nov. 12 at           10:00 p.m. (All times Eastern.)

Bounce TV Sets Second Season Premiere Date for Family Time: Tues. Oct. 14 @ 10:00 p.m. ET

Network to Encore Season One Tues. Nights 10-11:00 p.m. Starting Sept. 23, Marathon on Sun. Oct. 12 Builds to Premiere of New Season

 


ATLANTA (Sept. 22, 2014) – Bounce TV (bouncetv.wpengine.com) announced today that the new, 10-episode second season of the network’s popular Family Time series will be seen Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) beginning Oct. 14.

 

Bounce TV will encore the first season of Family Time on Tuesday nights from 10:00-11:00 p.m. (ET) with two-episodes back-to-back starting Sept. 23. The network will also air a Family Time Marathon of Season One on Sunday, Oct. 12 starting at 12:00 Noon ET.

 

Family Time chronicles the lives of the Stallworth family who have recently relocated to the suburbs, headed by the dad Tony Stallworth (Omar Gooding), a struggling general contractor, and his wife Lisa (Angell Conwell), an unfulfilled stay-at-home mom. These high school sweethearts lovingly quarrel with each other and their mischievous children Devin (Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr.) and Ebony (Jayla Calhoun) as they make up their own rules to love, marriage, and family along the way. When they are not battling each other they are contending with a host of family, friends, and neighbors, including Tony’s snobby older brother Todd (Christopher Williams) and Lisa’s feisty sisters Rachel (Tanjereen Martin) and Lori (Paula Jai Parker), all set in the tight knit community of Windsor Hills. The half hour situation comedy was created by Bentley Kyle Evans (The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Love That Girl) and is produced by Evans and partner Trenton Gumbs (Love That Girl).

 

Guest stars in season two include Lynn Whitfield, Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, Jackee, Richard Gant, Rodney Perry and Judyanne Elder.

 

Gooding is best known for appearing in television shows such as Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, Smart Guy, Deadwood, Barbershop: The Series and Playmakers and also the films Ghost Dad and Baby Boy. Conwell has a recurring role on The Young and the Restless and also played Meshach Taylor’s daughter on the CBS series Dave’s World and guest starred and recurred on dozens of hit shows including Moesha, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and 3rd Rock from the Sun. She was also in the theatricals Baby Boy and Soul Plane alongside Kevin Hart, Sofia Vergara and Monique.
