Bounce TV Affiliates to Air HD Premiere Episode of New Series Ed Gordon On Their Primary Channels

 

ATLANTA (Sept. 21, 2016) – Nearly 30 stations and counting will run the HD series premiere episode of Bounce TV’s first-ever news magazine show Ed Gordon on their primary channels starting this week, it was announced today.

 

The opportunity allows stations to promote their carriage of Bounce while encouraging sampling of the series. WUAB-TV in Cleveland, WMYD-TV in Detroit, WVUE-TV in New Orleans, WMC-TV in Memphis, WXIX-TV in Cincinnati, WBRC-TV in Birmingham and WFLX-TV in West Palm Beach are among the stations participating.

 

Bounce TV’s premiere of Ed Gordon on Tuesday, Sept. 13 was seen by nearly one million viewers 2+. The inaugural episode featured Gordon’s exclusive and emotional interview from Ferguson, Missouri with five Mothers of The Movement, African-American women whose children have been shot, with four killed, in acts of violence. Gordon also visited with Nate Parker and the cast of The Birth of a Nation, the much-anticipated motion picture dramatizing the life of Nat Turner, the slave who lead a rebellion in Virginia in 1831. In addition, Gordon sat down with popular singer-songwriter, record producer and actor Maxwell.

 

Gordon serves as executive producer and host of the new series, sitting down for revealing interviews with top headline makers, entertainers and pop cultural figures. Ed Gordon will also include investigative pieces, celebrity profiles, current event segments and human-interest feature stories.

 

Gordon has been a contributing correspondent for 60 Minutes II, The Today Show and Dateline NBC, the host of News and Notes with Ed Gordon on NPR, anchorman for BET and is a weekly contributor to the national Steve Harvey Radio Show. He is also the recipient of an NAACP Image Award, as well as the prestigious Journalist of the Year Award from the National Association of Black Journalists.

Premier Boxing Champions – The Next Round on Bounce TV Draws 1.3 Million Viewers Friday Night Sept. 16

ATLANTA (Sept. 21, 2016) – The first-ever Premier Boxing Champions – The Next Round on Bounce TV to take place in Las Vegas hit the jackpot.

 

Bounce TV premiered Premier Boxing Champions – The Next Round on Fri. Sept. 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET live from The Chelsea in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, with a premiere play for the west coast immediately following. The two airings combined to reach 1.3 million viewers 2+.

 

Male viewing was up by +19% in Men 25-54 and +10% in M18-49 versus the previous PBC on Bounce event in June. African-American Men also watched in big numbers with the fights increasing in the delivery of AA M25-54 by +50% and 18-49 by +34%.

 

Las Vegas’s own Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith (29-8, 12 KOs) defeated Frank “Notorious” Galarza of New York (17-2-2, 11 KOs) via majority decision in the main event. Augusta, Georgia’s Justin DeLoach’s (16-1, 8 KOs) superior boxing ability and effective counterpunching made the difference in the co-main event, as he won a unanimous decision over Detroit’s Domonique Dolton (17-1-1, 9 KOs). The opening bout of the telecast saw Jose Cayetano (20-4, 9 KOs) kick off Mexican Independence Day Weekend with a lot to celebrate. The Tijuana native defeated 25-year-old Alexis Santiago (21-3-1, 8 KOs) via unanimous decision, ending the Phoenix-native’s 10-fight win streak.
