Network’s New Off-Net Series Acquisitions Start Strong, Help Fuel Primetime Gains

 

ATLANTA (Jan. 15, 2015) — The premiere telecast of Off The Chain Presents: Rodney Perry on Tuesday, Jan. 13th at 9:00 p.m. ET has become Bounce TV’s most-watched original to date. The telecast delivered 256K Households (+64%*), 138K A18-49 (+42%) and 162K A25-54 (+51%).

The year is off to a roaring start for Bounce TV with ratings up across-the-board. On Jan. 5th, the network launched a new sitcom programming block of four popular off-network series leading into prime time: Roc (5-6:00 p.m.), The Parent ‘Hood (6-7:00 p.m.), A Different World (7-8:00 p.m.) and The Hughleys (8-9:00 p.m.) During its premiere week, the 5:00-9:00 p.m. block was up +26%** in HHs (144K), +51% in A18-49 (84K) and +26% in A25-54 (83K).

 

The outstanding performance of the sitcom block is helping to drive sizeable primetime gains: Bounce TV is up +21%*** in HHs (185K), +16% in A25-54 (115K) and +7% in A18-49 for the first two weeks of January.

ATLANTA (Jan. 2, 2015) – Bounce TV viewership continued to grow in 2014 as the nation’s first-ever and rapidly-expanding broadcast television network for African Americans posted the most-watched year in its history.

 

In Primetime viewership for the year, Bounce TV racked up tremendous gains in households and targeted sales demos with increases of:

• +42% among HHs (159K))

• +22% among P18-49 (84K)

• +29% among P25-54 (94K)

 

On a Total Day basis, Bounce TV ended the year delivering 119K HHs, up +37% compared to 2013. The network also posted gains of 17% in A18-49 (69K) and +30% in A25-54 (78K).

 

Bounce TV premiered its most-watched original series to-date last year: Family Time finished its 10-week season in December with an average delivery of 150K HHs, 96K A18-49 and 108K A25-54.

 

Bounce TV was also the only African-American targeted network to grow viewership versus last year as the network cemented itself as the #2 ranked African-American targeted network in Primetime and Total Day Households, key sales demos and total viewership.

Bounce TV Acquires First Off-Net Series: Roc and The Parent ‘Hood from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, A Different World from Carsey-Werner, The Hughleys from Twentieth Television

Popular Shows to Form New Programming Block Starting Mon. Jan. 5

 

ATLANTA (Dec. 16, 2014) – In its first foray into off-network series acquisition, Bounce TV has landed the television rights to four shows in individual, multi-year licensing agreements announced today. In the deals, the nation’s first-ever and rapidly-expanding broadcast television network for African Americans acquires Roc (72 episodes) and The Parent ‘Hood (90 episodes) from Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD), A Different World (144 episodes) from Carsey-Werner Distribution and The Hughleys (89 episodes) from Twentieth Television.
 

The four popular series will be scheduled together to create a new line-up leading into prime time, with the network airing two episodes of each show back-to-back Monday-Friday starting at 5:00 p.m.* beginning Monday, January 5, 2015:

Roc                                5:00-6:00 p.m.

The Parent ‘Hood      6:00-7:00 p.m.

A Different World     7:00-8:00 p.m.

The Hughleys              8:00-9:00 p.m.

The multiple Emmy-nominated A Different World debuted as the #1 new show of its premiere season, staying at #1 in its time period for five consecutive seasons; Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison head the cast. Based on D. L. Hughley’s real-life experiences, The Hughleys stars the comedian and Elise Neal as his wife who move their family from the inner to city to the Los Angeles suburbs with hilarious results.
