ATLANTA (Nov. 6 , 2014) –- The third season premiere of Bounce TV’s popular, family-friendly original comedy series Off The Chain will be Wednesday, November 12 at 10:00 p.m. ET, it was announced today. Featuring some of the most hilarious African American comedians on the stand-up scene, for season three Bounce TV turns over the microphone to one comic per show and expands to an hour-long format. Actress/comedienne Kim Coles will be the first to headline the Off the Chain season three stage with Off The Chain: Kim Coles on Nov. 12.

 

Perhaps best known for her five-season turn as the unforgettable “Synclaire” on the ground-breaking FOX comedy series Living Single, Off the Chain: Kim Coles represents the comedienne’s first-ever one-woman special, achieving a career milestone that she is excited to celebrate. “I always wanted to do a comedy special and it feels wonderful that this amazing dream come-true opportunity has come as I enter my 30th anniversary as a standup comedian,” says Coles.

 

In addition to Living Single, Coles has starred on other hit television shows including In Living Color, Frasier, One on One and the uproarious comedy series 10 Items Or Less as the villainous Mercy P. Jones. She was the co-host of the nationally syndicated daytime talk show, In the Loop with IVillage and has been a guest co-host for various shows, including The View. Coles is also known to reality audiences for having appeared on The Mole, VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club and Coming to the Stage.

ATLANTA (Oct. 30, 2014) – Bounce TV viewership continued to grow in the just-completed October 2014 ratings period and the second season of the network’s original sitcom Family Time has proven to be a hit.

 

In primetime viewership for the quarter, Bounce TV posted tremendous gains in households and key sales demos compared to 3Q13, delivering:

• +53% among HHs (151K)

• +28% among P18-49 (78K)

• +41% among P25-54 (93K)

Bounce TV was also the second highest-rated African American targeted network among HHs & P25-54 for the month.

 

The second season of Bounce TV’s original series Family Time debuted Oct. 14 and the premiere episode reached 341,000 Total Adult Viewers**, making it the most-watched Bounce TV Original in the network’s history. That record-setting performance continued in delivery of Adults 18-34 (71K), Adults 18-49 (121K), & Adults 25-54 (117K) – all records for a Bounce TV Original Series. The first two episodes of Family Time reached 1.7 million total viewers across their runs in October.

 

Family Time chronicles the lives of the Stallworth family who have recently relocated to the suburbs, headed by the dad Tony Stallworth (Omar Gooding), a struggling general contractor, and his wife Lisa (Angell Conwell), an unfulfilled stay-at-home mom. New episodes premiere Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Bounce TV Posts Double-Digit Viewership Gains in Third Quarter, September Becomes Net’s Best Month Ever in Primetime HH and A25-54 Delivery

ATLANTA (Oct. 1, 2014) – Bounce TV viewership continued to soar in the just-completed third quarter ratings period – which the network ended with a bang in posting its most-watched month ever.

 

In primetime viewership for the quarter, Bounce TV posted tremendous gains in households and key sales demos compared to 3Q13, delivering:

• 152K Households, up +45%

• 85K Adults 25-54, up +21%

• 75K A18-49, up +15%

September was the most-watched month in Bounce TV’s history in primetime with the network setting records by delivering:

• 168K Households, up +60%

• 101K A25-54, up +55%

Bounce TV also delivered 89K A18-49 for the month, up +48% vs. Sept. 2013.

 

Additionally, Bounce TV was the only African-American targeted network to post primetime viewership growth in the third quarter as well as in September vs. the same periods last year.

 

Three years after its debut, Bounce TV continues to grow in strength and popularity with affiliates and sponsors as well as with viewers. The network just added two more markets — Baltimore, MD (WMAR-TV) and Lansing, MI (WSYM-TV) — and is now seen in 90% of African American television households and 73% of U.S. TV HHs, while national upfront advertisers have more than doubled in the past year. Bounce TV will encore the first season of Family Time on Tuesday nights from 10:00-11:00 p.m. (ET) with two-episodes back-to-back starting Sept. 23. The network will also air a Family Time Marathon of Season One on Sunday, Oct. 12 starting at 12:00 Noon ET.

 

Family Time chronicles the lives of the Stallworth family who have recently relocated to the suburbs, headed by the dad Tony Stallworth (Omar Gooding), a struggling general contractor, and his wife Lisa (Angell Conwell), an unfulfilled stay-at-home mom. These high school sweethearts lovingly quarrel with each other and their mischievous children Devin (Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr.) and Ebony (Jayla Calhoun) as they make up their own rules to love, marriage, and family along the way. When they are not battling each other they are contending with a host of family, friends, and neighbors, including Tony’s snobby older brother Todd (Christopher Williams) and Lisa’s feisty sisters Rachel (Tanjereen Martin) and Lori (Paula Jai Parker), all set in the tight knit community of Windsor Hills. The half hour situation comedy was created by Bentley Kyle Evans (The Jamie Foxx Show, Martin, Love That Girl) and is produced by Evans and partner Trenton Gumbs (Love That Girl).

Debut of “One Love” Reaches Nearly 1.1 Million Viewers, Becomes Bounce TV’s Most-Watched Original Series Ever


ATLANTA (April 21, 2014) – Bounce TV‘s newest original series One Love reached nearly 1.1 million persons across its series premiere week runs to become the most-watched original in Bounce TV’s history.

 

Bounce TV’s ratings and viewership continues to grow across the board. Since first beginning to receive Nielsen ratings one year ago this month, the network has increased primetime viewership by 39% in Households, 27% in P18-49 and 28% in P25-54.* Bounce TV also just posted its fourth consecutive quarter of growth in the first quarter.

ATLANTA (March 20, 2014) – Bounce TV (www.bouncetv.com) — the nation’s first-ever broadcast television network designed for African American audiences — today announced a series of executive hirings and the opening of a west coast sales office as the network’s national advertising sales division continues to grow:

 

• Elverage Allen has been elevated to the post of Executive Vice President of           Advertising Sales, overseeing all general market ad sales efforts. Allen will be           based in New York and report to Bounce TV Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Katz.

• Sean Woodle has been named Vice President, Ad Sales, West Coast, joining Bounce           TV after nearly 20 years in the west coast sales units of ESPN and BET respectively.           He will be charged with opening and running Bounce TV’s new west coast sales           office and will report to Allen.

• Erick Asenjo has been named Vice President of Ad Sales, joining Bounce from TV           One. He will be based in New York and report to Allen.

• Gary Saginario, who came to Bounce TV from USA Networks, has been promoted to           Director, Ad Sales from Account Executive.

• Winnie Bernier, another former BET sales pro, joins Bounce TV as an Account           Executive.


A 15-year sales veteran, Allen most recently ran Bounce TV’s central sales efforts out of Chicago. Allen previously spent six years in ascending advertising sales positions at TV One, where he ultimately directed national marketing strategies and upfront and client presentations. He also spent seven years at BET in advancing positions, managing national advertising sales and marketing efforts in the Midwest and Southern territories.

ATLANTA/NEW YORK (MARCH 4, 2014) — Univision Television Group, which owns and/or operates 62 television stations in major U.S. Hispanic markets and Puerto Rico, will carry Bounce TV as a multicast channel on its stations in five major markets and has renewed Univision’s distribution of the nation’s first-ever broadcast television network for African Americans as a multicast channel in seven markets as part of a multi-year deal, it was announced today.

 

Univision will air Bounce TV in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Orlando and Phoenix in 2015, building on the existing distribution in San Francisco, Boston, Miami, Denver, Sacramento, Raleigh and Tampa. Bounce TV has now completed multi-year renewals with all their affiliates.

It is enormously popular with viewers and advertisers and has proven to be a good companion network for Univision,” commented Kevin Cuddihy, president, Univision Television Group. “We are looking forward to expanding our successful relationship to more markets.”

ATLANTA (Feb. 4, 2014) — Bounce TV began 2014 where it left off in 2013: Continuing to rapidly expand viewership.

 

For the fourth consecutive month, the nation’s fast-growing and only broadcast television network for African Americans posted its highest-rated and most-watched month in its history in January. Bounce TV also reinforced its position as the number two network for reaching African American adults among Black-targeted networks beating TV One by 43% during Prime.

 

Bounce TV continued to build on its record-breaking December performance by posting solid January gains in Total Day and Prime. In Total Day, Bounce TV was up 11% in both Households and Adults 25-54. During Prime, the network posted increases of 9% in Households and 7% in Adults 25-54.

ATLANTA (Jan. 6, 2014) — Bounce TV firmly established itself as the number two network for reaching African American adults among Black-targeted networks in the just-completed December 2013 ratings period, using BET, TV One and Centric as the competitive set. The nation’s fast-growing and only broadcast television network for African Americans continued to grow viewership at the end of the year, posting its highest-rated and most-watched month in its history.

 

In December, Bounce TV tied for 9th (with Bravo) among all ad-supported cable in the Total Day delivery of African American viewers 18+, beating 94 ad-supported cable networks including AMC, A&E, FX, TBS, Lifetime, TV Land, WE and TV One.

Bounce TV Expands: Felicia Hamilton as Sr. VP of Research, Damien West of Affiliate Relations

The network announced today that Felicia Hamilton has been named to the newly-created position of Senior Vice President of Research and that Damien West has been hired to the new position of Director of Affiliate Relations.


Hamilton reports to Bounce TV Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Katz. West reports to Vice President of Affiliate Relations Tracy Underwood. Both are based in Atlanta.


Hamilton will oversee all aspects of programming and sales research, and related functions for Bounce TV. A 20-year industry veteran, she comes to Bounce TV from TV One where she most recently served as Vice President of Research. Previously, Hamilton held ascending positions with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. including Senior Director of Research for CNN. Hamilton began her career in media research with Turner Network Television.


In his new role, West will direct and manage the development and execution of the network’s affiliate resources, affiliate campaigns, affiliate website and event marketing while also guiding third party partnerships to maximize affiliate reach and exposure. West previously was with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. where he developed affiliate marketing initiatives for more than 800 local affiliates for CNN Newsource Sales and CNN Radio. Most recently, he served as Marketing Manager for CNN Worldwide, Consumer Marketing Group where he was project lead on multi-platform marketing campaigns that included developing and implementing initiatives to drive tune-in around the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and managed the off-channel strategies for the presidential and vice presidential debates.

KSDK, NewsChannel 5, the Gannett-owned NBC affiliate in St. Louis announced this afternoon a distribution agreement as the exclusive provider of Bounce TV in the St. Louis market. The station will begin broadcasting Bounce TV on Wednesday, August 28th. The announcement was made by Bounce TV’s Executive Vice President of Distribution Jeffrey Wolf. Bounce TV is the nation’s fastest-growing and only broadcast television network for African Americans. KSDK will carry the network on its digital channel 5.2. It will also be available on Charter Cable channel 87.


Bounce TV targets primarily African Americans between the ages of 25-54, with a programming mix of theatrical motion pictures, live sporting events, documentaries, specials, inspirational faith-based programs, off-network series, original programming and more. Bounce TV will air twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week as a digital terrestrial network designed for carriage on the digital signals of local television stations. •Raycom Media has renewed its original distribution agreement for Bounce TV in 26 markets (Complete list below), just launched the network in Panama City, FL (WPGX) and will add it in Knoxville, TN (WTNX) shortly.

 

•LIN Television Corporation (“LIN Media”) extended its Bounce TV agreement for stations in Indianapolis, IN (WNDY), Hartford/New Haven, CT (WTNH), Norfolk, VA (WAVY) and Mobile, AL/Pensacola, FL (WFNA) and recently launched the network in Buffalo, NY (WNLO), Providence, RI (WPRI) and Grand Rapids, MI (WOOD).   In addition, two of the Bounce TV affiliates that LIN Media services have agreed to renew in Dayton, OH (WBDT-TV) and launch in Youngstown, OH (WYTV-TV).

 

•Belo Corp. has renewed its deal to carry Bounce TV on KHOU-TV in Houston, TX.

 

•New Orleans’ WVUE, owned by Louisiana Media Company LLC, whose owner Tom Benson owns the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans, has also renewed Bounce TV.

 

This significant scale of renewals and additional launches will drive Bounce TV’s penetration to 88% of African American television homes and 70% of the total United States.

ATLANTA (June 24, 2013) – Bounce TV (www.bouncetv.com), the nation’s only broadcast television network for African Americans, has acquired broadcast television rights to The American Bible Challenge and Catch 21 game shows in a new agreement with GSN, it was announced today by Bounce TV Chief Operating Office Jonathan Katz.  Both shows will debut later this summer.

The one-hour game show, hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, brings together contestant teams who compete based on their knowledge of the Bible as they strive to win prize money for the charity of their choice. Multiple Grammy Award® winner Kirk Franklin serves as musical co-host. The American Bible Challenge is produced by RelativityREAL, with RelativityREAL’s Tom Forman (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”) serving as Executive Producer on the project along with Janelle Fiorito (“Extra Virgin”).  Nick Stuart and Maura Dunbar of Odyssey Networks are Consulting Producers.  Jeff Foxworthy also serves as Producer.  Embassy Row’s Michael Davies as well as Parallel Entertainment’s J.P. Williams and Jennifer Novak serve as Executive Producers.

 

catch_21_200Catch 21 is one of GSN viewers’ favorite series, with ratings and key demo delivery having progressively grown with each season. Its fast-paced game play features host Alfonso Ribeiro quizzing contestants three at a time as they compete to win playing cards, and try to build the hand that comes closest to 21. Catch 21 was created by industry veteran Merrill Heatter and is executive produced by Heatter and Scott Sternberg of Scott Sternberg Productions.

 

Bounce TV recently landed the broadcast network rights to The Newlywed Game, hosted by The View’s Sherri Shepherd.

Bounce TV Expands Digital, Interactive Efforts

Bounce TV today announced the hiring of Paul Campbell as vice president of digital and interactive.  Campbell will be based in Atlanta and report to Bounce TV Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Katz.

Campbell has been working with digital technologies for more than 16 years.
