Former First Lady Michelle Obama announced she is teaming up with some adorable new friends on Netflix for a children’s series starting on March 16. The show, called “Waffles + Mochi,” will pair Obama with live-action puppets to have culinary adventures — and share some tips on healthier eating along the way.

Obama shared the news on her official Twitter account, along with a promotional photofrom the new show that features Obama and her puppet co-stars, Waffles and Mochi.

“I’m excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook and eat delicious food from all over the world,” she tweeted.

The new show is part of Obama’s work with the Partnership for a Healthier America, a non-profit organization where she is the honorary chairperson. The PHA works to help widen the accessibility of healthier foods to all children and adults in the U.S.

During her time as First Lady, Michelle Obama founded the Let’s Move campaign, which focused on improving the quality of school lunches and getting kids more active in an effort to combat a steady increase in childhood obesity.

As for her new TV show, the official synopsis from Netflix states that Waffles and Mochi are two best friends from “The Land of Frozen Food” who dream of becoming chefs — but all of their food is made of ice. So, the whimsical duo takes off “on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities.”

Netflix Family tweeted some other photos of the former First Lady with her new friends.

In an Instagram post about her upcoming show, Obama told her followers that “Waffles + Mochi” has been in the works “for a while now” and she is excited to finally be able to talk about the production.

“It’s all about good food: discovering it, cooking it, and of course, eating it,” she posted. “These two will take us on adventures around the world to explore new ingredients and try out new recipes. Kids will love it, but I know that adults will also get plenty of laughs — and some tips for the kitchen.”

Will you be tuning in with your kids in March for the family-friendly Netflix show?
