and Aug. 3 return of critically acclaimed ‘Johnson’
ATLANTA (April 8, 2024) – Bounce TV’s 2024 original programming plans include a new comedy series “Mind Your Business” and the fourth-season premiere on the network’s hit dramedy “Johnson” on Aug. 3.
Premiering Saturday, June 1, with two episodes back-to-back starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, “Mind Your Business” is a half-hour comedy that tells the story of the Williams family, which is in the business of celebrating some of life’s biggest events with its music services. However, when it comes to the Williams’ family affairs, there’s a need for referees instead of DJs.
Like a lot of small businesses, Lucille Williams’ once-prospering 30s-and-older lounge, Lucille’s Place, took a huge hit, forcing her to sell. Lucille’s baby brother, Henry Williams, couldn’t stand by and let Lucille’s Place slip away, so he recruited his fraternal twins, Aaliyah and Alfonso, to keep the business in the family. With Aaliyah’s creative sensibilities and Alfonso’s business mind, a safe space for planning and hosting events was born. Alfonso’s wife, Kimberly, and son, Alfonso Jr. (A.J.), join the event planning team. Even Aaliyah has one of their chosen family members, Mia, join the team; she is a jack of all trades – so she thinks. Although the new-and-improved Lucille’s Place brings everyone together, their affairs end up causing a mess bigger than a college frat party.
The series stars Columbus Short (“Scandal,” “Stomp the Yard”) as Alfonso; Drew Sidora (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “That’s So Raven”) as Aaliyah; singer and radio host Bebe Winans as Henry; Rolonda Watts from the internationally syndicated talk show “Rolonda” as Lucille; Caryn Ward Ross (“Fame,” “Monogamy,” “Patterns of Attraction”) as Kimberly; Brely Evans (“Ambitions,” “Being Mary Jane,” “The Man in 3B”) as Mia; Bryce Xavier (“A Bennett Song Holiday,” “Stay Tuned: The Movie,” Total Eclipse”) as A.J.; and Chloe Elise Ellis (“Borrasca,” “Footprints,” “Three Stories Up”) as Jordan, Alfonso and Kimberly’s youngest child. “Mind Your Business is produced by Harvest Studios and executive produced by Bentley Kyle Evans (“Martin,” “The Jamie Foxx Show.”)
In addition, Bounce has announced the summer return of its hit series “Johnson” – the popular dramedy that focuses on four lifelong best friends, all of whom share the same last name. Season four will debut on Saturday, Aug. 3, with two episodes back-to-back starting at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
Shot on location in Atlanta, the series is a journey of love, self-discovery and brotherhood told from the Black male perspective but inclusive of all men. “Johnson” is produced in partnership with Eric C. Rhone and Cedric The Entertainer’s A Bird & A Bear Entertainment, Deji LaRay (the show’s creator) and Thomas Q. Jones’ Midnight Train Productions. The ensemble cast is led by Jones (“P. Valley,” “Luke Cage”), LaRay (“Bosch,” “Greenleaf”), Philip Smithey (“Murderville,” “The Rookie”) and Derrex Brady (“NCIS,” “First”) with D.L. Hughley. LaRay and Jones serve as showrunners and executive producers; Rhone, Cedric The Entertainer and Reesha L. Archibald serve as executive producers.

Atlanta, GA—The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its football players of the week for the second installment of the 2013 SIAC Football Season as voted by the SIAC Sports Information Directors Association.
Miles was in the driver’s seat of the SIAC for the first nine weeks of the season, until hopes of defending the SIAC championships were diminished by Tuskegee in the final week of the season resulting from a 27-17 loss to the eventual SIAC Champions. As a consolation prize, the Golden Bears earned its first playoff berth in school history, where the team suffered a disappointing loss to West Alabama. Once again, Miles will be a heavy favorite to return to Atlanta for the SIAC Championship game and the Division II playoffs. While the task will be daunting, veteran head coach Reginald Ruffin will have his team up for the challenge in every phase of the game.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – After a 51-year hiatus from football, Lions fans and the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) will again get the chance to witness Paine College football starting in October.
